About me
I’m Nicolette, a French teacher with a passion for languages and education. I earned my BA in Romance Languages and Secondary Education from Dowling College, then went on to get my MA in French Language, Literature, and Culture from SUNY Stony Brook, and an MS in Curriculum Design and Instructional Technology from SUNY Albany.
I’ve taught high school French since 2017 and recently made the jump to middle school in 2024. I love learning and have participated in immersive summer programs, including the AP Summer Institute at Manhattan College and workshops in Aix-en-Provence and at Université Laval. I’ve also led professional development sessions at SUNY Stony Brook and for my colleagues.
My teaching philosophy focuses on creating engaging, project-based lessons that help students develop practical language skills they can use in real life, all while fostering a love for French language and culture. I’d love to talk with anyone about real world application of French language, French teacher summer intensives, and virtual collaborations!
